About Michael Foster

Novelist, biographer, and historian, Michael was born in Brooklyn and believes he got his talent for telling stories from his Russian blacksmith grandfather.

Freedom’s Thunder (Avon), Michael’s first novel set during the American revolution, was praised by Isaac B. Singer. Michael is the author of The Secret Lives of Alexandra David-Neel (Overlook), called a “wonderful biography” by The New York Times, and chosen by the New York Review of Books as “one of the best books of all times.”

Michael’s “racy and engaging” voice in Three in Love (iUniverse) was praised by Entertainment Weekly.

Michael and Barbara Foster have written a biography of America’s first SuperStar, Adah Isaacs Menken that will be featured for Women’s History Month, March 2011. He loves animals, home cooking, and walks in nature.
